Would you like to introduce yourself to VeryNeko?
My name is Maria, I live in Ontario, Canada, and I’m 20 years old. I am a cast member at my city’s Disney Store, and I’ve been there for about two years now. As a Disney Store cast member I work hard to create magic and happiness for all our guests, along with helping them find the perfect Disney products to bring the magic home! Above all, I have always been incredibly passionate about Disney and have dreamed of working for the company since I was little. I’ve grown up visiting the Disney Parks with my family, and they are truly the place I call home!
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Getting to create Disney magic in my hometown is a dream come true. It makes me so happy to be able to share my passion for Disney with our guests as I help them find the perfect treasures of all their favorite characters. All the while, making magical memories along the way! In addition to this, I also have an incredible work Ohana who is truly my second family! We support each other and work hard to create happiness for all our guests. Every time I put on my name tag I take great pride in knowing that I am representing my dream and Walt Disney’s legacy.
Coolest experience you’ve had at work?
I love getting to be a part of our entertainment team and performing in our in-store events! In the past, I have led events for movies and shows like Onward and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. It is always so much fun getting to interact with our guests and participate in exciting activities together! However, I also really love leading our store’s opening ceremony each morning. Selecting a guest to help me unlock the magic of our Disney Store with our Key to Imagination is always the best part of my day!
If you could only ride one of the WDW rides for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?
I think I would choose The PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom! It’s one of my favorite attractions. I feel like each time I ride is a new experience, because, like the attraction says, you never know who you might see! Although I would also be perfectly content to spend my time looping around Tomorrowland, taking in all the sights and sounds of the park. Plus, I could watch the fireworks every night with a great view!
