We spoke to Rebecca and Jessica Zamora, who met and fell in love whilst working together as Disney Cast Members. This is one magical story of romance and Disney magic!
Hello internet! We’re so excited to be contributing to VeryNeko’s Blog! We met in 2017, whilst working at Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and have since moved across the country to the West Coast and become Disneyland Annual Passholders!
Hey Rebecca, can you tell us a bit about how you started working at Disney?
I started working for Disney through the Disney College Program as a college graduate in 2013. A lot of my time was spent swimming under the sea with Ariel and throwing birthday parties for Minnie Mouse all day long at Hollywood Studios. After my College Program, I went part time and was given the opportunity to work with the newly introduced (at the time) FastPass+ team at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (DAK). Let me just say, it was a wild time!

How did you and Jessica meet?
In 2015, Disney announced they would be opening Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. The first instalment of the new land would be opening at the end of that year, and was to be named Star Wars Launch Bay. I was fortunate enough to be an opening team trainer and we had such a successful opening! After being promoted to a Coordinator role, my focus shifted from solely entertaining our guests, to primarily focusing on the Cast Members.
This role challenged me in new ways every day. I am so thankful for the team, for teaching me how to be a leader, and more importantly how to be a good peer. I’m grateful for my time at Launch Bay for so many reasons, but by far the most important thing I took away from my time there was not a thing at all, but a girl, who I am so thrilled to say I married in the craziest year of all - 2020!!
Hey Jessica, can you tell us how you got your role at Disney?
Jessica here! There are so many prominent memories thinking back to my time as a Cast Member. Like Rebecca, my journey started with Disney as a College Programmer and was thrilled when I found out I would be working in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. My home location included Princess Fairytale Hall, Mickey’s PhilharMagic and Prince Charming Regal Carousel! It was such a magical experience!

There are few things I miss more than my long conversations with Chewbacca (even if it was hard to understand what he was saying), BB-8 dance parties and joining the Resistance to defeat Kylo Ren! But by far the most unexpected highlight of my intergalactic travels was meeting my then girlfriend, now wife (now, let’s all swoon together) Rebecca.
Now, time for the love story lowdown!
Hollywood Studios gave me the most magical real life fairytale I could have asked for. Amongst the many memories, my highlights will always revolve around the magic that I was a part of making for others. The families and friends I met really made the experience completely worth it. The Mickey shaped snacks were a big bonus, but it really is all about the connections you make.
